Rubicon Red oneSpot provides a rich framework for the implementation of Rich Internet Applications on top of the Oracle SOA/BPM Suite, it includes a rich set of customizable widgets, pre-integrated with the Oracle SOA/BPM Suite worklist and security framework, plus a fully functional customisable worklist application implemented using this framework.
The core of the framework will be a set of pre-built “widgets”, each encapsulating a set of common capabilities within a single component; these can be quickly assembled to implement a RIA, such as the Process Portal. Widgets include Real Time Task List, Security, Smart View, Task Widget, User Lookup, Comments, Attachments, Activity Stream and Process Map.
The Process Portal application provides users with access to their various tasks and work queues. The application also provides a number of additional views (or Spots) that enable user to quickly identify high priority tasks, tasks due soon or new tasks, as well as the ability to define their own views.
The Process Portal is built using the oneSpot Framework; the source code for the application is provided allowing the application to be easily extended and customized, as well as provides developers with a full set of working samples demonstrating how to use each of the widgets.
The Process Map extends the core oneSpot Framework, to provide a business view of an instance of a BPEL or BPMN process. The Process Map allows you to define a “cut down” model of the process to present to the business, this is then “wired” to the underlying BPEL Process so that it is update in sync with the real process.
Process Wall (or Actvity Stream)
The Process Wall provides a time ordered list of activities and events performed against an instance of a business process, such as a creating or editing a workflow task, posting a comments or attachment, or sending / receiving a messages.
Actvity templates allow you to customize how this information is presented, in order to provide users with a business friendly view.
