Rubicon Red announces Beta release of Scheduler 2.0

Rubicon Red is pleased to announce the beta release of version 2.0 of its Web Service and Event Scheduler. Designed specifically as an extension to Oracle SOA Suite, the Rubicon Red Scheduler provides the ability schedule the execution of Web Services, BPEL Processes and the publication of EDN Events.

Release 2.0 provides a number of significant new features over the previous 1.2 version of the scheduler, this includes:

Simple schedule expressions (in addition to Cron based expressions).
Scheduling of one way or two way asynchronous web service
New rich internet application for schedule configuration and management.
Support for Oracle BPM Suite 11gR1

A common requirement for SOA and BPM solutions is to have the capability to have a time-based scheduler, which enables the business to schedule the execution of a web service, a BPMN or BPEL process to run periodically at certain times or dates.

The Rubicon Red Scheduler provides an out of the box extension to the Oracle SOA Suite, enabling you to schedule:

Using SOA to accelerate Integration

In the past most organizations have used point-to-point integration to wire together ‘siloed’ applications. Yet, key business processes cut across multiple “siloed” applications. Overtime, organizations end up with a tangled web (often referred to as integration spaghetti) of inter-dependency between systems. As this set of inter-dependencies grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain and change, not just the connections but the underlying systems, which can significantly impede an organizations ability to execute.

Service oriented architecture (SOA) has evolved to address these issues. With SOA, software applications are built as a set of modular, loosely coupled components, exposed as Web services. Corrective Services New South Wales provides correctional services to reduce re-offending and enhance community safety.

Rubicon Red worked with Corrective Services to implement a Business Process Management solution to deploy and manage transparent processes around incident management that span multiple departments and systems, to ensure staff know what to do when a critical incident occurs and managers are kept updated on what is being done.

The solution leveraged Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Business Process Analysis Suite and Oracle WebLogic Suite.
