Oracle BPM

Automated Unclaimed Monies process to process large volumes of daily transactions and ensure efficient processing of customer claims. Used flexible role- and team-based work allocation to balance specialist and generic skills and workloads, and drive productivity improvements of up to 25%.

Reference Architecture

Leveraged Rubicon Red Reference Architecture to implement best practice loosely-coupled service architecture for Oracle SOA and BPM so they can easily modernize and replace parts of the underlying legacy system on a piece-meal basis with BPM solutions.

Significant Cost Savings

Extended the useful life and capabilities of core revenue-management system, saved US$24 million in system replacement costs the first year, expected to grow to US$80 million in long-term savings, minimized risks, and increased business agility.

State Revenue Office Victoria

State Revenue Office Victoria (SRO) used Oracle SOA Suite to modernize and extend the capability and useful life of its revenue-management system by providing standards-based interoperability over the existing architecture without replacing the entire system or making extensive underlying changes. By adding Oracle Business Process Management Suite (Oracle BPM Suite), it automated and orchestrated end-to-end revenue collection processes based on predefined business rules and built-in workflow capabilities without needing a time-consuming data migration process or large-scale changes to core system routines. As a result, SRO has begun to transform its revenue-management system to a process-centric architecture rather than a function-centric environment, enabling the agency to improve operating efficiency, and drastically reduce its total cost of ownership.

With Oracle BPM Suite and Oracle SOA Suite, SRO were able to meet the requirements of their target architecture and enable efficient integration with their existing complex, back-end, enterprise capabilities. This process-centric architecture also ensured more effective collaboration between business processes and IT, enabling increased business agility.

Rubicon Red provided support for process-modeling, architecture development, and solution-layer design and also provided expert advice to support SRO’s infrastructure team for the ongoing transformation project.

"Rubicon Red’s experience and expertise in Oracle Fusion Middleware played a key role in the design and successful execution of our transformation project, enabling us to maximise our existing IT investment." Paul Dulfer, CIO, State Revenue Office Victoria

State Revenue Office Victoria were recognised for this project as a Winner, Oracle BPM Excellence Award in 2014.
