Rubicon Red Achieves Specialization Trifecta

Rubicon Red today announced momentum is building in it’s Oracle PaaS and IaaS practice with growing customer demand, three new Oracle Partner Network (OPN) Specializations and a number of successful go-lives with Oracle PaaS and Oracle middleware.

2018 Momentum Building with Oracle PaaS and IaaS

19 April, 2018 – Rubicon Red, a recognized global leader in Oracle Cloud Platform and a Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced momentum is building in it’s Oracle PaaS and IaaS practice with growing customer demand, and three new Oracle Partner Network (OPN) Specializations.

Since the launch of it’s Oracle PaaS and IaaS practice six months ago, Rubicon Red is thrilled to have recently delivered a number of successful go-lives with Oracle PaaS and Oracle middleware, with some exciting new projects on the horizon.

“We are starting to see real traction in the Australian market place with customers looking to modernize their existing applications footprint by quickly moving to the cloud, but in parallel, looking to invest in specific cloud native projects, where they can deliver fast ROI and achieve real differentiation,” said John Deeb, CEO, Rubicon Red.

Deeb went on to highlight opportunities around some of the more recent Cloud offerings from Oracle. “Emerging technologies are changing the way we interact with application functionality and data. Specifically, chatbots are proving to be a very tangible solution for our customers - delivering value quickly, by solving real problems easily and applying consistency and scale in customer experience.”

Having recently delivered a successful Oracle Intelligent Bots project, part of Oracle Cloud Platform, for a higher education institution to address student ATAR enquiries, Rubicon Red is currently fielding requests for chatbot solutions across many industries including higher education, public sector and service delivery.

Other recent Rubicon Red go-lives include People’s Choice Credit Union with a new Oracle-based integration platform to support the New Payments Platform; Ruralco upgraded their enterprise Oracle integration platform from 11g to 12c and migrated to the cloud; Australian Red Cross Blood Service also upgraded their enterprise Oracle integration environment to 12c; US customer, DirecTV, rolled out Rubicon Red MyST to deliver DevOps capability across their enterprise Oracle integration platforms, and in Europe, the Dutch Government also implemented Rubicon Red MyST for DevOps provisioning and continuous integration.

“We are delighted with the work Rubicon Red have delivered for our Oracle SOA 11g to 12c migration to the cloud. As part of ongoing managed services we have implemented DevOps using Rubicon Red MyST for provisioning and continuous delivery. Our migration to 12c on the cloud is the first step in our cloud journey and we are looking forward to working with Rubicon Red on our future Oracle cloud projects.” said Stuart Laird, Head of Applications, Ruralco.

Rubicon Red has a number of interesting projects on the horizon including an application modernization project for an Australian winemaker looking to move their enterprise integration platform to Oracle Cloud.

What continues to emerge as Rubicon Red helps customers on their journey to Oracle Cloud is the importance of having a thriving community of successful customers – successful projects breeds ongoing success for customers, vendors and partners alike. “We see three key elements to supporting a thriving community around Oracle Cloud Platform – first is to build our own knowledge, second, to share our wisdom – sharing what we have learned in terms of best practices and proven approaches with the broader community and thirdly to promote the success of our customers as they rollout successful projects that are having such a positive impact on their own organizations. As Oracle Cloud Platform specialists, continual learning and ongoing investment in the latest product knowledge is critical for all of our consultants to stay abreast of the latest technologies and approaches”, concluded Deeb.

A prime example of the ongoing investment Rubicon Red makes towards continuous learning and education is the latest round of OPN Specializations it has achieved. Rubicon Red are very proud to announce it has recently achieved three new OPN Specializations for Oracle Mobile Cloud, Oracle Infrastructure as a Service and Oracle Management Cloud. These latest accreditations extend Rubicon Red’s comprehensive set of OPN Specializations, now numbering nine in total, including Oracle SOA Suite 12c, Oracle Business Process Management 12c, Oracle WebLogic Server 12c, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c, Oracle Linux 6 and Oracle VM 3.0.

“The three recent OPN Specializations attained by Rubicon Red, cement their position as a partner of choice for Oracle Cloud Platform in Australia and New Zealand”, said Rob Willis, Regional Managing Director, Oracle Australia and New Zealand. “Our customers all over the world are looking for partners like Rubicon Red to help them modernize their existing applications and in parallel, deliver on the digital innovations that business transformation today demands, using Oracle Cloud”.

Rubicon Red Launches dedicated Oracle Cloud Practice

“Plan Strategically, Act Tactically” to Deliver Sustained Innovation

20 September, 2017 – Rubicon Red, a recognized global leader in Oracle Cloud Platform and a Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced the launch of a dedicated Oracle Cloud practice for platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). With the new practice and a new office in Sydney, NSW, Rubicon Red is best equipped for Oracle Cloud growth in Australia.

Dedicated to Oracle Cloud Platform, Rubicon Red Oracle PaaS and IaaS specialists offer unrivaled expertise to support their customers’ digital transformation journey with Oracle Cloud. The new Oracle Cloud PaaS and IaaS practice introduces solutions for Application Development on the Cloud, Process Automation, Connecting Apps/Data/Devices, Migrating to Cloud, Cloud and Hybrid Security and Cloud Management.

The expanded solution offerings cover the broad set of Oracle Cloud Platform services including Application Development, Integration, Security and Infrastructure-as-a-Service.

A core principle of Rubicon Red’s cloud best practice architecture and methodology for the Oracle Cloud Platform is their “Plan Strategically, Act Tactically” mantra. Enabling customers to realize a cadence of sustained innovation to accelerate the speed and frequency of delivering business outcomes. Key to this approach, is to incrementally add new functionality for users, exploiting new technology as it appears in the platform (for example emerging AI/Bots/Machine Learning capabilities). This is made possible by leveraging Oracle Cloud Platform capabilities to connect and extend core systems coupled with Rubicon Red’s best practices for agile, iterative development, DevOps and release automation.

“By leveraging a strategy and architecture that evolves over time, we can design for ongoing engagement with our customers and “assemble to delight” with same day changes, and then scale what works. “ John Deeb, CEO, Rubicon Red.

This means customers can leverage existing investments in on-premise and SaaS applications, and incrementally add new capabilities using the PaaS layered architecture, to differentiate their offerings. This incremental approach means our customers can introduce innovations to disrupt markets, but importantly they are not disrupting their own internal operations/workforce or their customers, who can rely on, on-going service continuity.

“My focus is to continually improve experiences for our members in the fast paced world of retail and health. Working with Oracle Cloud Platform and our key partner Rubicon Red, means innovation is more a way we do things. It allows us to embrace and foster the relationship between our members, our employees and the National Pharmacies brand.” Ryan Klose, General Manager, Corporate, National Pharmacies.

The launch of the new Oracle Cloud PaaS and IaaS practice, coupled with the recently opened office in Sydney, NSW, strengthens Rubicon Red’s position as the partner of choice for Oracle Cloud Platform, in Australia.

“We are excited to see our local partner, Rubicon Red, expanding their services with a new practice dedicated to Oracle Cloud Platform PaaS and IaaS. With Oracle Cloud Platform, customers can realise speed to value at lower cost. Oracle Cloud Platform plus Rubicon Red’s cloud best practice approach is a powerful combination for customers on their digital transformation journey’s”. Franco Ucci, Senior Director, Oracle Corporation Australia Pty Limited.

Rubicon Red Invests in Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle SOA Cloud Service

Rubicon Red, a recognized global leader in Oracle Fusion Middleware and a Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced it has subscribed to Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle SOA Cloud Service.

Oracle Cloud Platform to Rapidly Enable Key Go-To-Market Processes

Rubicon Red, a recognized global leader in Oracle Fusion Middleware and a Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced it has subscribed to Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle SOA Cloud Service.

A global middleware partner, Rubicon Red identified an opportunity to invest in Oracle Process Cloud Service (PCS) and Oracle SOA Cloud Service (SOACS) to implement key internal go-to-market processes that would help the company rapidly scale, delivering solutions and services to the market faster, and at less cost than alternative approaches.

Rubicon Red uses PCS to automate a number of key go-to market processes, including the process of requesting, approving and provisioning a cloud based trial environment to test drive Rubicon Red’s solution accelerators for Oracle Middleware. In the future, it is planned to leverage Integration Cloud Service (ICS) to integrate PCS with external SaaS-based applications.

This represents a transformation for Rubicon Red from an Oracle Partner to also being an Oracle Customer. This change of status highlights another benefit of Oracle Cloud: in that the cost of entry is significantly lower, allowing medium size enterprises such as Rubicon Red, to more readily take advantage of enterprise software.

“We have a great opportunity to better meet the needs of our clients by understanding the “customer perspective”, which we get directly from using Oracle Process Cloud Service ourselves”, said John Deeb, Rubicon Red, CEO.

With a focus on helping clients on their journey to the cloud, the Oracle Cloud Platform is a key enabler for Rubicon Red to deliver enterprise class integration and BPM solutions on the cloud.

“Research shows moving development to the cloud can initially reduce development time by an order of 11 to 20 percent. Organizations that fully embrace the cloud for Dev and Test are experiencing more than 30 percent time savings upon maturing their DevOps capabilities[i]. SOACS is perfect for this. Thus another reason for our investment is to provide even closer integration between our Oracle Middleware DevOps solution, MyST, and SOACS, to provide the ability for our clients to develop in SOACS and then deploy on-premise for Pre-Prod and Prod”, said Matt Wright, Rubicon Red, Chief Technology Officer.

With ready access to Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle SOA Cloud Service, Rubicon Red is building hands-on expertise and also plans to leverage these new environments to build proof of concepts and validate client requirements, helping clients get started on their journey to the cloud.

“We are excited to see our local partner, Rubicon Red, investing in the Oracle Cloud Platform, specifically Oracle Process Cloud Service and Oracle SOA Cloud Service to kick-start their own internal business processes. With our new PaaS offerings, customers can achieve faster time to value at a much lower cost, making our PaaS offerings a great option for medium-sized organizations. Further, as a global Middleware partner, adding Oracle PaaS capabilities to their service offerings, will enable Rubicon Red to be a go-to partner locally, as our clients embark on their journey to the cloud with Oracle,” said Franco Ucci, Senior Director, Oracle Corporation Australia Pty Limited.

Digital Impact Radio: Listen to Matt Wright, CTO, talk about Transitioning to the Cloud

[i] A 2013 Survey by Evans Data Cloud Development Survey, found that cloud platforms reduce overall development time by an average of 11.6 percent, 38 percent cited savings in the 11 to 20 percent range, whilst 10% had experienced more than more than 30 percent in time savings.

Rubicon Red Discusses Oracle Cloud Platform

In a recent interview with Oracle, Matt Wright, CTO of Rubicon Red, shares his insights on Oracle Cloud Platform.

Matt describes how Integration Cloud Service, Java Cloud Service, and Process Cloud Service enable customers to easily and rapidly deliver applications and processes, and integrate SaaS and on-premise applications.

Integration Cloud Service (ICS) provides a key capability to integrate those SaaS-based apps that are popping up everywhere, and easily bring them into an integrated whole.  Additionally, ICS includes a comprehensive recommendation engine which provides a way to share and re-use mappings. For Rubicon Red, as a partner, this means we can publish pre-built integrations and recommendations to the Oracle Cloud Marketplace.

Java Cloud Service (JCS) is important for us, as we are working with some of our key clients, to quickly provision the Middleware stack on Java Cloud Service to start application development and testing, without bringing on-premise infrastructure online.

Matt says Oracle Cloud Platform services can be integrated and used together to build compelling cloud-based solutions.  For example, if I have a simple employee on-boarding process to implement, I can use Application Builder Cloud Service to build a quick data form to capture some data items, then use Process Cloud Service to drive the on-boarding process, and kick off some documents using Documents Cloud Service.  Oracle Cloud Platform can be used to build end-to-end processes that every organization needs, but in the past, have not had the capability to easily implement.

Watch the video to hear Matt discuss how customers can leverage Oracle Cloud Platform to rapidly deliver innovative new cloud-based solutions, today.
